Frequently Asked Questions
Deposit Information
Deposits are non-refundable, regular appointments require a minimum of 48 business hours to reschedule and full day sessions require 7 days’ notice to reschedule. We also honour 2 reschedules before loss of deposit.
Failure to adhere to this may result in forfeiture of the deposit to cover the artists loss of time and/or alternative penalties.
Do you take walk-ins?
At this stage we are not currently taking walk-in appointments due to Covid-19.
Aftercare for your tattoo
Remove plastic wrap after 1-2 hours, gentle wash with solid, pH neutral soap in warm water.
Gently pat dry with clean, disposable paper towel (do not wipe).
Continue to wash the area with warm soapy water 1-2 times daily. (You can also use baby wipes if on the run).
After 2-3 days apply aftercare cream twice daily after washing. Recommended aftercare products: Tattoo Tonic or Dr. Pickles.
Your tattoo will take around four (4) to six (6) weeks to completely heal.
*If second-skin/Saniderm has been applied, please follow your tattoo artist's specific instructions
TIPS TO REMEMBER
Do not scratch or pick at scabs, this may increase the likelihood of infection or scarring.
Do not go swimming or submerge fresh tattoo in open water sources such as pools, lakes, bath water or the ocean for 14 days.
Avoid exposing your fresh tattoo to direct sunlight as much as possible.
Keep your tattoo away from pets
How to prepare for your appointment
Please see our Valley Ink Information Sheet
Can you use numbing cream?
We do NOT tattoo anyone who has applied any type of numbing agent.
As numbing agents are an over the counter product it is very risky for us to tattoo you if you have applied a numbing agent.
We are not trained in this field and it is a liability for us to tattoo you when numbing agents have been applied.
If you have applied a numbing agent to the area you wish to get tattooed, we will not be able to tattoo that area of your body and if you don't wish to get the tattoo on a different part of your body and wish to reschedule your appointment, your deposit will become forfeit and you will need to pay a new deposit for the new booking date.
Can we cover up your tattoo?
Our artists are more than happy to take the job on when possible. Consultations are required prior to discuss the outcome and design options to help you cover up your current tattoo/s.
